THC-O TIDBITS

Updated: Oct 13, 2022

I've been seeing these so-called THC-O cartridges at just about every headshop in Oklahoma. They look funky, cool, p.h.a.t. (pretty hot and tempting) but I passed. Later that day my younger sister, who lives in Georgia recently gave me a call...

"Bro? Have you ever heard of THC-O? Or Delta-9? What is this?"

At that moment, I knew nothing at all. So, I did some research and tried to shed some light on THC-O at least for her. You can enjoy too!

What is THC-O?

THC-O is a newer form of marijuana, which is becoming increasingly popular. THC-O is not exactly new, and not exactly "that gas" but it is certainly more popular than ever. You may have heard about other types of cannabis and how they work. THC-O works similarly to other forms of cannabis in many ways but there are some differences you should know about before trying this product out for yourself. In this article, we explain what THC-O is and how it works so that you can make an informed decision on whether or not this form of marijuana might be right for you!

DEFINITION OF THC-O

THC-O is a chemical found in the cannabis plant. It's a type of cannabinoid, which is an active ingredient in medical marijuana. The THC-O we're speaking of contains no psychoactive effects, so it doesn't cause you to feel high or stoned after ingesting it.

It's legal status is due to it being a synthetic form of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). THC has been used for decades as an antiemetic agent and appetite stimulant; however, synthetic THC is not always effective as these benefits can be obtained from natural cannabis products such as flower buds that contain higher amounts of other cannabinoids like CBD (cannabidiol).

Because of this fact, many people prefer using natural cannabis rather than synthetic products because they don't want their medicine being made up of only one cannabinoid when there are other compounds available within the plant.

It is created when cannabinoids are stored, exposed to light and heat (decarboxylation), or processed by the body.

The cannabis plant contains more than 100 different compounds called cannabinoids. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC and CBD (cannabidiol). When you smoke or vaporize marijuana, it releases these chemicals into your body. However, if you eat cannabis products instead of smoking them, then these compounds won't reach your lungs because they're digested before reaching the alveoli—the tiny air sacs in which oxygen travels from your lungs to your bloodstream.

Can THC-O be detected in urine tests?

It turns into THC, which can be detected in urine tests for up to 30 days after consumption. THC-O is not the same as THC. It's a non-active form of cannabinoids that is created when THC transforms into its active form. This process is called decarboxylation and it happens in your body after you take a drug or consume cannabis.

It can also be detected in urine tests for up to 30 days after consumption, even though you may not feel high anymore because most people metabolize it within 2-3 hours of ingestion.

However, a urine test that tests for both THC and THC-O will detect use for up to 45 days after consumption. THC-O is formed when cannabis is stored, exposed to light and heat or processed by the body (e.g., cooking). It can remain in your system for longer than other cannabinoids even if you don't have access to the plant itself on a daily basis.

Can THC-O get you high ?

You cannot get high from THC-O, but it will cause you to test positive for cannabis. THC-O is not psychoactive, so it will not make you high.

THC-O is not a controlled substance or part of the cannabis plant. It is a synthetic compound that acts like THC when consumed orally and creates its own effect on your body.

Conclusion

In conclusion, THC-O is a very exciting and promising new compound that could have huge implications for the future of cannabis. We hope this article has given you some insight into how it works and why we should all be excited about its potential to improve our lives.

It's important to note that THC-O (the synthetic) does not get you high. It's a non-active metabolite of THC that can be detected in urine tests for up to 15 days after consumption. However, a urine test that tests for both THC and THC-O will detect use for up to 45 days after consumption
