My Fav 5 Concentrate Types

Different types of dabs are available to meet various individual needs and preferences. Some people prefer specific consistencies, flavors, or effects when dabbing. Different types of concentrates also offer varying levels of potency which can be beneficial for those who want more control over their dosage. Additionally, some concentrates require the use of specialized equipment and techniques that may not be accessible to everyone. Here are 5 most common types of dabs.

1. Wax Dabs

Wax dabs are created by extracting oils from cannabis plants and then purifying the oils into a concentrated form. The most common type of oil used to create wax is butane hash oil (BHO). To make wax dabs, the BHO is spread onto a clean surface and then heated until it melts. The molten oil is then scraped off into small pieces which are referred to as “dabs” or “shatter.”

These concentrates can be vaporized using a specialized dab rig or an electronic nail (e-nail). Dabbing delivers an intense and flavorful hit of cannabinoids that many users find more enjoyable than smoking flower.

2. Live Resin Dabs

Live resin dabs are made by flash-freezing freshly harvested cannabis flowers, then using solvents such as butane or propane to extract their essential oils and terpenes. This process preserves more flavor, aroma, and potency than traditional methods of extraction. The resulting concentrate is a sticky, translucent extract that often contains up to 70% THC. Dabbing this type of concentrate allows users to experience the full flavor and effects of the strain they are consuming.

3. Shatter Dabs:

Shatter dabs are made in much the same way as other concentrates – by extracting the cannabinoids and terpenes from marijuana plants. The difference is that shatter has a much higher level of purity and transparency than other concentrates.

This is because shatter is made using a combination of heat and pressure to break down the cannabis plant material. This process removes any impurities, leaving behind only the purest form of THC concentrate. Shatter can be vaporized or dabbed, allowing users to get an extremely potent dose of cannabinoids quickly and efficiently.

4. Crumble Dabs:

Crumble dabs are made by heating wax until it reaches a malleable consistency, then stirring it with a tool or spoon to create small chunks. This type of concentrate typically has the highest terpene content out of all the dab types, making for an incredibly flavorful experience. Crumble dabs are generally easier to handle than other dab varieties, making them a great choice for first-time dabbers.

They can be placed directly onto the heated nail of a dab rig or vaporizer and inhaled through the mouthpiece. The heat from the nail causes the wax to melt, releasing its potent aroma and flavor.

5. Budder Dabs:

Budder dabs are similar to wax in terms of production but have more moisture content and creamy texture when compared to wax or shatter. It’s created by whipping cannabis extracts at high temperatures which gives it its unique consistency and flavor profile.
