Dab On 'Em Like The Usual!

How to dab?

Knowing how to do cannabis dabs properly is important because it allows users to get a more concentrated dose of cannabinoids than with other methods of consumption. Dabbing also provides an efficient way for users to experience the full range of effects that cannabis has to offer, including pain relief and relaxation.

It can be a lot safer than smoking as it does not involve combustion or inhaling smoke into the lungs. But to do all that you must know how to dab. Here’s what you should know about dabbing:

1. Start by gathering the supplies you need to dab

If you're not using an electric dab rig, a dab rig, torch lighter, nail (titanium or quartz), wax concentrate, and a dab tool is all you need.

Dab Rig: A dab rig is a specialized type of smoking device used to vaporize concentrates in the form of wax, shatter, budder or oil. They are typically smaller than bongs and feature a variety of percolators that help cool down and filter your smoke before it reaches you.

Torch Lighter: A torch lighter is an essential tool for dabbing as it provides the high heat necessary to vaporize concentrates without burning them. It’s important to use one with adjustable flame settings so you can find the optimal temperature for each concentrate you are using.

Nail (Titanium or Quartz): The nail is what holds your concentrate when dabbing, and must be heated up in order to vaporize it properly. Titanium nails have been popular for years due to their durability but quartz nails have become increasingly popular because they heat up faster and retain heat better than titanium nails do which results in more flavorful dabs!

Wax Concentrate: Wax concentrate comes in many different forms such as crumble, budder, shatter, etc., all of which can be used while dabbing depending on your preference.

Dab Tool: A dab tool is used to scoop up your concentrate and place it on the nail, as well as stir and move around the concentrate while vaporizing. Dab tools come in a variety of materials such as titanium, glass or quartz but all serve the same purpose!

2. Heat up the nail with your torch until it is red hot

This should take around 15-30 seconds depending on the type of nail you are using. Once the nail is red hot, use a pair of tongs or heat resistant gloves to carefully pick it up and place it onto your desired surface. Be sure to hold the nail in place for at least 30 seconds before releasing it. This will ensure that the material you are working with has been properly fused together.

3. Vaporization from the nail

Once heated, use your dab tool to place a small amount of wax concentrate onto the tip of the nail while it is still hot. This will cause an immediate vaporization process that can be seen as smoke rising from the nail’s surface.

4. Inhale

Place your mouth over the top opening of your dab rig and inhale slowly while keeping an eye on how much smoke is produced from your hit – when enough has been inhaled, remove your mouth from the device and exhale gently through pursed lips to keep any remaining vapor contained in one area for easy inhalation afterwards if desired.
