AVOID BAD DABS!

The How To Guide To Avoid Bad Dabs

Dabs can become unsafe when they are not produced in a clean and safe environment, or if they contain contaminants such as pesticides, residual solvents, or heavy metals. Additionally, there is an increased risk of overconsumption due to the concentrated nature of dabs. However, there are certain types of dabs that can be bad for you too.

Here’s what you should know about them and how to avoid these bad dabs.

What kind of dabs can be unsafe?

Certain types of dabs can be unsafe, especially those that are high in THC or contain other chemicals. Dabbing without proper precautions, such as using a torch to heat the nail before applying the concentrate, can result in burns and explosions. Additionally, some people add additional substances like butane hash oil (BHO) or propylene glycol (PG) to their dab mixes which can be hazardous if not handled properly.

Butane Hash Oil (BHO)

This is the most common type of dab and it's highly dangerous due to its high potency and the risk of explosions from using butane gas to extract the THC from marijuana buds.

Wax

Wax dabs are made by heating cannabis or other concentrates with a torch and then scraping off the residue that forms on top, which can be very dangerous if done incorrectly.

Live Resin

This is a newer form of concentrate produced by freezing freshly harvested marijuana plants in order to preserve more terpenes and cannabinoids than traditional extraction methods allow for, making them much more potent than regular wax dabs. Unfortunately, live resin often contains residual solvents like propane or butane which can be hazardous when inhaled in large quantities.

Shatter

Like wax, shatter is created by heating up marijuana concentrates with a torch before quickly cooling them.

6 EASY ways for avoiding bad dabs?

1. Start with a clean rig.

Before you start dabbing, make sure your rig is free of any residue or buildup from previous sessions. This will help avoid bad tasting dabs and reduce the risk of inhaling harmful chemicals.

2. Use only high-quality concentrates and waxes.

Buy products from reputable brands to ensure they are safe for consumption and won’t contain any contaminants or impurities that can affect taste and quality of the dab experience.

3. Make sure your nail is hot enough

Before applying your concentrate or wax to it; otherwise, you may end up burning off some cannabinoids before they have time to vaporize properly resulting in a harsher hit than desired as well as an unpleasant flavor profile for the dab itself.

4. Avoid using too much concentrate on each dab

This can lead to wasted product as well as an overly intense hit when it comes time to inhale the vapor created by said concentrate.

5. Clean your rig regularly

This should be done to avoid the buildup of residue or contaminants that can affect the taste and quality of each dab.

6. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different types of concentrates and waxes

This will help you find out which ones work best for you as well as provide a more enjoyable experience overall.
