How To Do Your Newbie Grower Shopping In 5 Minutes!

You've probably heard of growing your own cannabis at home, in which a medical marijuana card holder, in Oklahoma, in my case can actually grow their own medicine in their backyard, closet, garage, or any open space that they have. Knowing this just makes me as a medical marijuana patient feel simply better because I don't have a lot of money to spend at high dollar dispensaries. I love growing plants and within the last 5 years cannabis has been one of the most challenging yet successful for me. After reading this blog post, you will be equipped with all the necessary tools to help aid you along your next grow cycle.

This is a compiled list of all the necessary tools that you will need in order for you to grow your own cannabis at home. Before we begin. I do want to say that there is no right way to grow cannabis, everybody has their own methods and techniques. Some items mentioned below are a little expensive, but I strongly suggest that if you want to grow quality cannabis then you should find a way to acquire every item on this list.

No point in SEARCHING for a quality seed bank or wondering if they can legally ship to the US. The guys over at I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM) , have never failed me.

Unfortunately, I'm not one of the 30,000 growers who've started their first grow with a seed from ILGM but that's one of the reasons I chose them. Thousands of great reviews! Plus they have a wide range of both auto flower and photo period seeds to choose from. So yes, getting seeds is your first priority.

2. Find your space

if you decide to use a room, garage, or closet space for your home grow here's what you do. Head to your local home and garden store or Amazon and get some panda plastic. It's plastic with one side white the other, black. This plastic helps maximize the light your plants will receive during their lifecycle.

Another option would be to get a grow tent. The walls inside the tent are lined with reflective material so you'll be maximizing the light effortlessly.

3. Quality Air

It's important to keep fresh air flowing in and out of your grow space the best hack for this is to invest in a carbon filter and fan. Here's the one I use inside my Vivosun 4X2X5 tent. Usually, a complete grow kit also comes with a carbon filter, fan, and ducting. This piece of equipment also keeps the smell of your plants to a minimum helping you stay discreet, even though it's totally legal in my state.

You can also look into getting a small clip on or box fan to keep the air circulating. Look for something small that is easy to clean after each grow cycle.

Dehumidifier can be used for quality Air control as well. For those who over compensate with water and don't really understand environmental basic, a dehumidifier will here help suck moisture from the air bringing your humidity to where it needs to be, between 50% and 60%.

4. Lights

When it comes to grow lights, at the house I stick with full spectrum LEDs. I'm currently running Mars Hydro ts3000 in my tent and the fit is tight but they have worked for 2 grows. I really only use it to veg and bush out clones now.

You should also go ahead and get a greenlight headband. This is for checking on the plants during their "lights off" periods. Cannabis plants loves light but for scientifically reason I will not explain here, they are"blind" to greenlight. This gives you the opportunity to get a late feed in if necessary or some late night stress training.

Quality LED lighting for you can be found at companies like Mars Hydro, Spider Farmer, and Viparspectra.

5. Nutrients/Soil/Amendments

For any home grower I will always recommend using soil from Fox Farm. Ocean Forest, Coco Loco and Happy Frog are my favorites. They also have in stock coco:perlite mixes that I'd like to try out myself.

Amendments is just something you add into your soil for better plant growth. I'm other words it's fertilizer. Here is how we'll feed them for the next month. This is organic cannabis growing at it's finest!

Start by looking for a fertilizer with a balanced ratio of Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium (NPK). I will always stand by Jack's Classics all purpose fertilizer and blossom booster. There are other companies such as Gaia Green that carry a product for the bushing stage as well as the flowering stage.

Other amendments you should go get include:

All these are nothing but beneficial for the gas you will be smoking, if that's what you're smoking?

That just about sums it up here be in the lookout for the items you need to harvest at a later date. I'm out. Enjoy yourself.
