How Many Failed Grows Started Me On The Road To Success

It wasn't exactly what I wanted to see from my first time growing weed—or many times after as well. Down in the basement of our home I'd tried and failed many times trying to be a #growyourown from home cannabis grower. For one I was basically not educated enough to even try for the attempt, second it was in a basement with none of the necessary equipment for a basic set up.

You're planned to fail, if you fail to plan.

I love this quote because it is what made me realize the importance of confidence in what you're doing.

20 years later, I'm still learning new tricks. Nowadays, I do all my growing outdoor using the power of mother nature to maximize what is possible for the seed genetics I "pop".

I do plan on going back into the garage with a vivosun grow tent and use the space for growing during the winter months.

Success with growing has to start with a solid plan of action to take while on the grow your own medicine journey.

It's important to know feed cycles, watering times, know the light schedule for plants in different stages of development, and what to look for along the lines of deficiencies.

Ed Rosenthal in his book, Closet Cultivator, states that "potential growers... should digest enough information to make intelligent decisions as to how big a garden will be needed, where to place it, and what techniques they will want to use while growing cannabis."

Planning out the way you grow will make it an easier process to help maintain your garden and be proactive for your plants needs. There's no need to rush the process or get carried away about what you don't have. Remember, you can always wait for spring and use the natural resources to help aid you in the process of saving and creating space for the colder months.

The best place to get started with a grow is by first learning the process by studying material that's already available. There's tons of free videos on Youtube, you could read books or magazines, even listen to podcast for information that will best suit you and your gardens needs.
