There are no specified conditions listed by state law. It depends upon the physician whether they consider your situation qualified or not.

In general, a person with one of the following conditions might be capable of getting the certificate:

· Chronic Pain

· Depression

· Anxiety

· Glaucoma

· Autism

· Cancer

· Severe Nausea

· Seizures

· Anorexia

· Wasting Syndrome

· Muscle Spasm

· AIDS

· Neuropathy

· Terminal Illness

· Crohn’s Disease

· Cachexia

· Inflammation

The above conditions, including others, can help you get a medical marijuana card.

Who Can Recommend the Card?

If you think your health issue qualifies for a medical marijuana card, you need to get a doctor’s recommendation first. Remember, without the advice, you will be considered ineligible.

For the recommendation, visit your personal physician. You can also get an appointment with a doctor specializing in medical marijuana. A recommendation from any of the two will work.

Limitations

There is a residential limitation. It means you can get the card only if you are an Oklahoma resident. Otherwise, you will not be regarded as disentitled, you will have the opportunity to apply for a temporary medical card that is active for 30 days only!

As far as age is concerned, there are no age restrictions. If you are 18 or above, you can get the certificate without a caregiver. However, for an under 18 patient, their guardian or parents must register as caregivers and receive not one, but two doctor recommendations.

Who Is a Caregiver?

A caregiver is a designated person who can buy, carry, and administer medical marijuana products. A caregiver is usually necessary for younger patients. However, anyone can get assistance.

To qualify as a caregiver, the person must be your relative and an Oklahoma resident. Note that your caregiver cannot use, cultivate, or purchase more than the prescribed quantity of cannabis.

Steps to Apply

You need to follow the steps described below to get your card.

  • Get a recommendation from a doctor.

  • The next step is to create an account on the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority website. It is vital for getting approved.

  • Fill out an online application on the relevant section (Adult, minor, or caregiver). It is better that your physician fill out the form.

  • After that, you will be required to provide proof of eligibility. This section requires three things from you: Identity proof, residency proof, and a doctor’s recommendation.

  • The last step is to pay a $100 application fee plus a $4.50 processing fee. Medicare patients will pay only $20 (Processing fee included which is $2.50)

  • OMMA will send you a verification email within two working days. Authority will also notify you if something is missing from your application.

  • You will get the approval letter within 2-4 weeks, and your medical marijuana card will come in the mail within the same timeframe.

That is how you can get a medical marijuana card in Oklahoma.
